What has changed in your life since we last spoke?
There are several things that have happened, some not happy as I have had two knee surgeries. This setback has slowed the writing of my sequel to A Hairdresser's Diary. On the other had I was invited to do my first speaking engagement for the Probus women's group of Brantford. The response to my visit was extremely positive. I was so pleased and wam invited to join this elete group of amazing women.
Have you learnt any new wisdom?
I have learned to be more patient with myself, that if my book is not ready for publication on the date I have set I can just move the date. This does not mean I have failed it just means I need more time. I also have learned the value of a good and experienced editor. They are invaluable.
Have you become a better writer? If so, how?
Yes I think I have. I have found I can express myself in fewer words and get the same reaction. I am also not so afraid of writing what I really mean instead of what I think people want me to say.
What are you working on at the moment?
At this moment I am on Chapter Twenty of the sequel of A Hairdresser's Diary. I am not quite sure about the new title I have conflicting thoughts. The amazing thing about my book is that I have family, friends and clients who are asking to be in this next book. I am so pleased that my first book made such an impact . I hope to have it finished and published by Christmas.
Tell us about your latest release and how we can find out more.
My latest release is my book of original poems. These range from poems I wrote when I was as young as nine until the last few years. Many of these have been written for other people. The picture on the front of my book is my original piece of art I painted on the back of a white denim jacket and was one of my signature pieces for my hand painted clothing line.
