The week draws to a close, I'm back in the office tomorrow, but I still have that Friday feeling! For the last guest author interview of the Easter week blitz we welcome Peter Masters to the hot seat.
Please introduce yourself, who are you and what do you do?
I am Peter L Masters and I have been a writer for many years. Since returning to the UK after living in the Philippines for 15 years and travelling for 5 years previous to that, I've finally published Cut Limbo. It is my 1st published novel and I still have a day job. (I blog too)
What first inspired you to start writing?
I have always written, even as a child, but my 1st experiences of people enjoying what I had to write/say (after school) was when I started to write songs and sing for cult punk band Spasmodic Caress (see us on YouTube) The US band The Spits re-released our 4AD cult classic Hit The Dead (circa 1980)
And what was your first story?
My 1st unpublished novel was Cult Hero, an adult Adrian Mole type adventure. It wasn't great, but it was a great experience and encouraged me to travel the world and find a good story line or two.
If you could write anybody's biography, whose would it be?
Elmore Leonard
What do you enjoy most about writing?
Making up bizarre and amusing characters and situations and mixing them up with personal experiences to create stories.
And the least?
Proofreading.
What advice would you give new and aspiring authors?
Don't give up your day job (I gave up a great job in 1989, spent 2 years writing and my 1st novel never even got published) Find your niche & never give up. If you don't love writing don't do it, take up jogging instead.
What are you working on at the moment?
Promoting Cut Limbo, having an official launch and finally getting it on Kindle. (Not sure why I've found it difficult?)
Tell us about your latest work and how we can find out more.
Two sequels to Cut Limbo, one, possibly entitled Back On The Dog, is a direct continuation from Cut Limbo because we never actually found out how Chris made all his money. The 2nd book is Panky Goes To Hollywood, which will, very much like Cut Limbo, be based on some personal experiences.

By day I'm a video game consultant, and I also volunteer at the German Shepherd Dog Welfare Fund - the charity that rescued the dog I adopted last year. I've also recently started compiling a website covering the history of the village I live, although I'm hoping to draw in some help for that project! Here is scratchpad when I need it, and a place for my personal projects. It's also an archive from back when this was was my writing blog.
Hi Michael, thanks so much, I'll be blogging about this real soon! Appreciate the support!!
