In today's guest author interview we meet children's author Ernie Rosenburg:
Please introduce yourself, who are you and what do you do?
I have a Ph.D. degree and a State of California teaching credential. I have taught from pre-school to graduate school in the public, private, and business sectors. I co-founded one of the early special education schools in the San Francisco Bay area and have run a home for teenagers in legal difficulty. I produced environmental education software, which was distributed by Apple Computer, Inc., and developed the first computer based training program adopted by the Zurich, Switzerland school system. I have two children and two grandchildren. I lived for seven years in a meditation ashram where prayer was one of my primary spiritual practices.
What first inspired you to start writing?
I was inspired to write because it gave me a way to touch small children in the essential area of prayer.
And what was your first story?
My first story is the book “Amy's Best Friend, Prayers Of A Child.”
What drew you to writing children's books?
It is a very direct way for me to contribute to a small person's life by offering them fun and their own personal relationship with God.
What do you enjoy most about writing?
I most enjoy seeing kids have fun and adults just simply lighting up from the prayers.
And the least?
The part I least enjoy, at the moment, is getting the book in front of people. I least enjoy marketing.
What advice would you give new and aspiring authors?
I would urge aspiring authors not to quit!
What are you working on at the moment?
I'm working on marketing “Amy's Best Friend” in both print and ebook formats, along with the companion coloring book and prayer journal.
