Guest Authors Revisited - Matt Weaver

I first interviewed Matt Weaver back in February (you can read his original interview here), I recently caught up with him and you can find out what he's been up to since then below:

What has changed in your life since we last spoke?
In my world outside of writing, I've been moving into more responsibility in my day job, which is great...though I come home with less energy than before. As for writing, my second novel is nearing completion and I'm really excited about it.

Have you learnt any new wisdom?
Yes, that's it's OK if not everyone likes your writing! The Lightness of Dust started with a few less-than-glowing reviews--which was discouraging--but soon started picking up some wonderful praise. I've also learned that everyone around me seems to be getting younger. A bit disorienting, really...

Have you become a better writer? If so, how?
I hope that I have! I wrote Lightness with only a skeleton roadmap. It worked out pretty well but caused a lot of headaches that could have been avoided. This time around I mapped the work out more completely. Of course, the story didn't agree with everything I'd lined out!

What are you working on at the moment?
My second novel is nearly finished. It's in the same series as The Lightness of Dust but is by no means a sequel. Only one character appears again, and only for a short few scenes.

Tell us about your latest release and how we can find out more.
